Delbarton Chess club
I have been the president of the Delbarton Chess Club since 9th grade. The club has 155 members, a huge increase by 50 members since I became president. I am also the founder of the virtual Delbarton Chess Club on the most popular platform, chess.com. I hosted the first virtual chess tournament with almost 40 people attending. Ever since I've continued to host and direct virtual tournaments for Delbarton, and this April, I expanded to USCF rated in person tournaments. As the organizer and Chief TD of the tournament, we had 16 players attending and had great success for our first tournament. I am continuing to host tournaments for the Delbarton Chess Club in hopes that I can help others learn and enjoy chess.
Delbarton Chess summer camp
I have organized and hosted a summer camp for kids for all different ages for two summers nowl. The summer camp takes place for a week and offers great instruction. There is also a USCF tournament at the end of the camp, so that the campers can experience what it's like playing in a serious tournament setting. Koo Chinese Academy is a place for children to learn Chinese language and culture after school and I wanted to bring chess to there. I have been teaching since April of 2022 and enjoy teaching the students.
