First Class at McAuley Hall

We had a wonderful time at McAuley Hall, teaching the residents how to play chess. Seeing the joy and excitement on their faces as they learned the game was heartwarming. We were delighted to witness the positive effects of chess on the seniors, as they were more engaged, social, and mentally stimulated.

The event was a great success, with many residents eager to learn the game. We started with the basics, taught them the rules and strategies, and slowly worked up to more complex moves. The residents were quick learners and showed a great interest in the game.

We were particularly moved by the connections that were formed during the event. Chess truly is a bridge that connects people regardless of age, gender, or background. We witnessed friendships being formed, laughter being shared, and a sense of community is created.
